Are you SquidCasting? Yes, no, maybe? Are you SquidCasting more or less than previously? I've not done any serious analysis on the frequency of my SquidCasts, but I have noticed that some lensmasters have obviously picked up the frequency on their SquidCasting.
With a little investigation by looking at the source code of my Stuffed Cabbage lens, I figured out the "link" for a particular Sidebar Widget that I wanted to spotlight in my last SquidCast.
It's imperative that you start your SquidCast home page for your Squidoo lenses. Here is the SquidCast home page for my Stuffed Cabbage lens. Once you've done your first SquidCast, you will find that home page populated with your SquidCast and subsequent SquidCasts.
Going to my Stuffed Cabbage SquidCast home page, I can click on the titles of each SquidCast to get that specific SquidCast dedicated page. The SquidCast I created on April 9, 2010 The Very Best Stuffed Cabbage Rolls should be ... IS "A Squidcast about the Sidebar."
An interesting observation about SquidCasts. Some lensmasters have been talking much about creating good SquidCasts. That's not the subject of this blog post.
What I have noticed, as I scroll my favorites tab on my dashboard with the SquidCasts queueing up sequentially, is that "people" are either ignoring SquidCasts, or, for the most part, if they visit a SquidCast, they are NOT commenting on them! Why is that?
Go to your favorites tab, select to view 25 SquidCasts. Now scroll down the list and see how many comments you can count. Are you seeing a bunch of zeroes next to the comments? I know I see interesting SquidCasts out of the 25 listed; why do those NOT have any comments? I've recently done my part to add a "1" to those comments. Did I visit one of YOUR SquidCasts?
OK ... this one is pretty interesting, with a touch of humor. You need to follow through to "GET IT." You see, afterall, it is a "SquidCast about the Sidebar."

I have been so busy lately that I have totally neglected the new amazon side widgets and squidcasts. Thanks for the reminder that I need to learn these better.
You know Jeff, I really do love SquidCasts and Sidebar Widgets! I've personally hesitated on doing more SquidCasts ONLY because if I fill up the Favorites tab with my SquidCasts, I may lose readers rather than gain the readership that I seek for SquidCasts -- I've tried my ultimate best to make them interesting and eventful. You know, not just tell everyone, "Hey YOU! Come and read my SquidCast." Or, "Hey YOU, I updated my lens."
I'm hoping that there may be an improved manner of viewing all the SquidCasts that populate our favorites tab page ... it doesn't present them "favorably" if you send out several SquidCasts in a short period of time ... you know ... it could be all one lensmaster talking.

I think my SquidCast frequency is unchanged. Guess I should check but I would very surprised if I had a single comment. Still need to learn about the Amazon widget...so many things to do!
Hi Christine! You know, I think my SquidCast frequency is a little "under the weather." Not because I don't want or have something to say. But, because I really see a need for changing HOW those SquidCasts populate everyone's dashboard in the "My Favorites" tab. If you send more than 1 SquidCast per day, you could look to be almost "spamming" that roll call of everyone's SquidCasts.
Does that make any sense? You know, you can see 25 listed at one time and yours could easily be more than 1/5 of the list.
Let me get this straight....sidebar is a term I hear watching law and trial shows. Please forward instructions so I can topically get involved and become a participant in squidcasts.
Yes, I do believe that sidebar originated with a legal connection. So, we are now having a bit of a sidebar discussion about another type of sidebar. And, seeking to be spot-on, relevant, and topicably inclined.
Oh, a sidebar about that sidebar! At the moment there are 4 widgets eligible to move into sidebar positioning. We lost the Facebook Fans ... I think it overgrew that sidebar space, so we relegated it back into the normal module portfolio so it can spread its wings within the normal content page.
